"That’s funny" NYC Previews May 3-4

Catch the NYC previews of Jacquetta Szathmari’s comic solo show “That’s funny. You didn’t sound black on the phone.” Developed in 2010 at The PIT with instructor Jen Nails, the show debuted at the first Hollywood Fringe Festival earning critical praise from fans and critics as well as a Best Comedy Nomination. The show was also accepted into the ‘11 Hollywood Fringe and the ‘11 United Solo Festivals. And now it’s back! See previews of the latest incarnation of a show that pits race against class against religion in an orgy of storytelling from one of NYC’s most distinctive voices. It’s not for the weak.

"That’s funny." is the tale of a non-conformist black girl in extreme rural Maryland who almost “gives up on black people”, discovers The Official Preppy Handbook, and flees to boarding school with dreams of being upper class and Jesus-free in Connecticut.
